Christmas in the desert means that we won’t get any snow, but it still has its perks. With Phoenix temperatures hanging around the 70s, it’s a perfect time to get the family out to enjoy all the city has to offer this season. Last year we wrote about a few of the popular, annual Phoenix holiday festivities including: Zoolights, Las Noches de Las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden, and CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink. Since we live in a city filled with endless holiday fun, this year we’ll add to the growing list of best holiday events in Metro-Phoenix.

1. Illumination: Symphony of Light

Claiming to be the world’s largest animated holiday light show, this 25-minute, magical drive-thru experience is bound to give you some holiday cheer. And a portion of each ticket sale goes to benefit Banner Children’s Hospital. If you visit the North Phoenix location, enjoy free parking and admission to the Holiday Boulevard Market Place, where you can shop, play, eat and drink!

And, Diablo Stadium in Tempe, AZ

When: November 27, 2018 to January 5, 2019 (North Phx.)

2. Fishmas at Sea Life Arizona Aquarium

In addition to all the wonder that the Sea Life Arizona Aquarium has to offer, they are throwing an array of sea-themed holiday activities for the kids, including scavenger hunts and ornament decorating. And every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm, Santa will trade his rooftop traditions for underwater scuba diving.

3. Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade

It’s not the holiday without a parade, right? Bring the entire family to watch this floating parade as 50+ festive boats covered in lights meander down Tempe Town Lake. You can also enjoy some holiday shopping at the Holiday Market and a snack from local food trucks.

4. The Festival of Lights on Chandler Blvd.

This festival of lights has been organized by the local Ahwatukee community since 1995. Drive Chandler Blvd. from 24th St. all the way to Desert Foothills Parkway and witness millions of white LED lights that make the Arizona landscape sparkle!

Where: Chandler Blvd and 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ

When: November 27, 2018 to January 1, 2019

Time: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
